The SEC Basketball Tournament 2012 is scheduled to take place March 8-11, 2012 at the New Orleans Arena in New Orleans, LA. If traveling to the tournament, its recommended to book lodging (hotel, etc) as soon as possible due to the high demand seen to date. The winner of the 2012 SEC tournament will earn the conference’s automatic bid to the 2012 NCAA basketball tournament. The specific dates and network coverage for the tournament are tentative until confirmed by the league. This will be the first tournament that the SEC shifts to a single seeding methodology with the top 4 teams in the tourney receiving byes. With the conference expanding over the summer, it is not yet known what format the league will pursue for the 2013 SEC Basketball tournament schedule
