Sacramento continued the trend of the worst NBA team failing to win the number one position in the NBA Draft lottery with having to settle for the number four overall pick for the 2009 NBA Draft . They entered the 2009 Draft Lottery with a 25 % chance to get the first overall pick and win what has become the “Blake Griffin Sweepstakes.” Unfortunately for Kings’ fans, they’ll have to settle for number four this year. The Wizards were in the number two position going into the lottery, but fell to the five spot with the Los Angeles Clippers jumping from the third spot to getting the first pick in this year’s NBA lottery. The following is the revised 2009 NBA draft lottery with projected pics for each team based on team needs.

Summary:

Hasheem Thabeet is one of the best prospects in this year’s draft physically. At 7-2, 260 lbs, he has good size for a 7 footer and is very athletic. His overall game is assessed as still being a bit raw, but he will go high in the draft for teams that need a defensive presence inside quick. Offensively he will need a few years to start really contributing.
