Padgett brings big time power and rebounding and was teammates with New York phenom, Lance Stephenson at Lincoln High School on Coney Island. Jordan Williams brings a big body with great rebounding. A bit more raw than Williams in his overall game, but still a great prospect for Maryland in their 2009 recruiting class. The Terps are also in the running for the services of guard, Lance Stephenson, who is expected to not make any significant moves on his 2009 committment until after his late June court hearing.
2009 Maryland Terrapins Basketball Recruits
#1 – 2009 Maryland Terrapin Basketball Recruit – James Padgett
Ht: 6′7″
Wt: 210lbs
Rank: 3 Star
James Padgett has great strength and knows how to play physically in the paint on offense and defense. Great leaping ability which allows him to compete with taller players, and has decent post moves for not being the primary offensive option for his high school squad. He’ll need to work on his post moves and ability to pass in traffic as he transitions to ACC basketball next season, but will be an excellent addition to the Maryland hoops team.
#2 – 2009 Maryland Terrapin Basketball Recruit – PF- Jordan Williams
Ht: 6′9″
Wt: 245lbs
Rank: 85Williams will likely find his way into the Maryland starting lineup by the mid-way point in the 2009-10 NCAA college basketball season.
Jordan Williams has great strength and size and is able to score and rebound close in to the basket at will. A great floor runner as well, he’s able to keep up with the guards and can score. He needs to work on his overall conditioning and shot blocking capability though he is considered to be a solid defender otherwise.
